Description

About the Book:

In its sixth revised edition the book is a sensitive presentation of the life and teachings of Shirdi Sai Baba, one of India's illustrious saints. Sai Baba is one of those radiant and compassionate beings who have influenced the lives of millions. The book has also been published in Japanese language.

In this insightful biography Mani Sahukar has described the incredible life of Shirdi Sai Baba, and lucidly presented the main points of his teachings on the disciple and the true Guru.

Shirdi Sai Baba was an outrageous and paradoxical character, a man given to bizarre habits and unconventional behavior towards his devotees, nevertheless endearing and ardently loved by many. Mani sahukar took us far beyond our conventional image of the quietistic man of wisdom into the true vision of life revealed in the fiery presence of the God-Realized Spiritual Master. That presence is the hidden and ultimately inexpressible in the humble, the odd, and the even fabulous incidents of this great saint's life.

About the Author:

Mani Sahukar had earned for herself an enviable reputation as a writer and an orator. Graduating from the Elphinstone College, Mumbai with Philosophy and English literature as her special subjects, she had a distinguished academic career.

Since 1943 the author had taken up writing as a career. Prominent among her other publications are Krishna Leela, the appeal in Indian Music, Krishna Sangeet (an aesthetic appreciation of Bhagwan Shri Krishna) Due to her enlightened exposition of the teachings of Shri Sai Baba, Shri Upasani Baba and Godavari Mataji, Mani sahukar was able to bring into prominence the immortal precepts of these distinguished spiritual Gurus.
