About the Book

Lord Vishnu is the perpetuator of all life forms and non-living things in this world. Probably, no other incarnation of Lord Vishnu has been so thoroughly read, written about and enacted as Krishna. This book is a compendium of the tales of Lord Krishna's life. It starts with this birth and ends at the point when He leaves this immortal world, after completing all ethereal tasks.

These tales have enthralled the readers of all tastes and backgrounds. His name, if chanted, brings peace and prosperity. His leelas, if read or watched, make readers wiser, learned and devotional. Such is the power of Krishna!

He arrived to demolish the demons and removed chaos from Aryavrata. He gave the Divine Sermon, in the form of Geeta, to Arjuna (during the end of the Mahabharata War). Lord is truly a lotus-he undertook all actions of the ethereal world like a true yogi but did not involve himself in-its pleasures and agonies.

Foreword

In a fast changing modern world, often we find the values upheld by one generation getting rejected by the next. For them even the values become a product like a car model which has to change quite frequently in order to stay in the market. Nevertheless, despite change being the world's innate nature, there are still some axioms which form the very bed- rock of human civilization. Our ancient tomes reveal some of those fundamental beliefs which make man remain human. Among them is the 'Srimadbhagwat' that stands out as the most enlightening light house in the all-round spreading darkness of disbelief. It enshrines the doings of Lord Krishna-the incarnation of Lord Vishnu-who is perhaps the most revered deity all over the world. Whether it is in Los Angeles or Tokyo one may come across a Krishna devotee singing a devotional song.

Preface

The term 'Bhagwat' literally means of God. In the holy Srimad Bhagwat, in many an episode, the word Bhagwad has been used in the context of the meaning of the devotee. Lord dwells in the heart of the devotee; He lives in his sight and in each part of his body. The devotee is only for God. His deity, his means and his entire life belong to God. In Bhagwat's heart, Lord Krishna resides and vice-versa-this is the mutual relationship between the two. Upon learning this Eternal Truth, one starts 'seeing' God in Bhagwat and Bhagwat in God. In the literature written around the world, spiritualism has plausibly been expressed in such a divine manner through poetry as has been done in Srimad Bhagwat. It is a divine scripture. In it, all types of emans, viz; ashram, human religion, karmayoga, ashtang yoga, junana yoga and bhakti yoga, have been thoroughly explained. In it, the devotion through means (sadhan) and the propitiated one (sadhya) has been explained to delineate a simple method for attaining God.

The rapid strides of recent researches have also confirmed the scientific validity of the preventive and the curative potentials of rudraksh for the well-being of health and life prosperity of mankind.
