The depiction of Parvati actually suckling a tiny baby Ganesh through his trunk is unusually striking as is Kumara's rat-skin rug, lending an iconographic completeness to the scene. The serene repose throughout has a particular charm and Nandi's strength and gentle devotion are disarming.
