This is another of the exciting ritual series of Tantric paintings. Here the goddess carries on her body emblems of the sacred yoni. On her cheeks are symbols of the sun and moon, which respectively identify the subtle channels through which kundalini energy travels in the body. The kundalini force, in the form of a snake, is just awakening from where it has lain asleep, coiled three and a half times around the Siva lingam, in the cakra at the base of the spine.
