Arati Anklikar Tikekar has made a place for herself as one of the most promising prospects on the firmament of classical music. Her rich wide ranging voice has attained a soul searching intensity through rigorous riyaz. She started training from the tender age of ten and her talent soon enamoured all. She won scholarship as part of national Talent Search contest and later again received the Surshri attained the Honour of receiving guidance from none other than Saraswati Kishori Amonkar.

Despite being groomed in various styles of singing related to different gharanas she has tried to develop her own individual style an ascetic fusion of all the gharanas. Her emotionally full presentation resonant voice and winsome personality together with the nasal tinge capture the true artiste performer and a romantic in her. Her command over Laya and Laykari coupled with her tans make her singing a delightful journey for any listener.

Besides performing at all the prestigious platforms in India and abroad she has also rendered songs for Shyam Benegal’s film Sardari Begum. She has also received highly regarded awards such as the Pt. Jasraj Award 2002 and Mumbai Mayor Award 2001. She could well be the veteran of classical music tomorrow.
