This recording includes a rare krithi of Saint Puranadaradasa who was a great devotee of Lord Krishna in Ragam Madhyamavathi and the krithi on Lord Shiva composed by him is a rare item. The artiste has selected the Krithis of lesser known composers like Narayana Theertha Neelkantha sivan Guru Surajananda etc. in her special Endeavour for Times Music.

E. Gaayathri started her tryot with the Veena at the tender age of 3. After rigorous training she gave her maiden performances when she was 9 years old and instantly proclaimed a child prodigy. Form then on her musical career was marked with wondrous performances and particularly remembered is the one in the direct divine presence of Jagath Guru Chandrasekara saraswathi Swamigal Reverentially known as periyava. Today she has performed in more than 5000 concerts all over the world. Her jugalbandis with Ustad Ahmed Hussain Khan and Dr. Balamuralikrishna witnessed commendable response from listeners all over. She has also recorded several albums and ahs earned the reputation of a classical Vena Maestro. Her repertoire of awards ranges from the outstanding Youth award in 1976 to the title of Kalaimani and Veena Naada Mani and Isai Peroli by karthik Fine arts. Throughout her career she has endeavored to bring out the vocal effect through tonal vibrations by maintaining and sustaining the continuity by plucking the strings of the Veena. Not restricting herself to the realm of classical music she has also explored the world of fusion ghazala and light music. She believes that her mission in life is to reconfirm that through music and through her Veena she can pave a way for total liberation and self realization.
