This mask belongs to a wide range of objects made today by
craftsmen who have devoted a lifetime to mastering the different
hand manufacturing techniques. It is made out of a sheet of metal
by alternatively heating and hammering the metal. Simplicity
marks this mask wherein the outline of the face forms the metal
turned inwards; the nose is a slightly raised triangle; the eyes
and the lips are incisions made in the metal and the parts of
metal raised to form eyelids and the lower lip. The hair is
neatly incised to give the impression of hair. The metal is
unpolished and intentionally left to rust to give it a truly
tribal feel.
