Till the age of twenty-three, he played the darabuka, drum kit and other percussion instruments with various music groups and was engaged in composing as well as studio recordings. After the bombing of Serbia in 1999, he decided to explore the world of percussions in the cultures – the middle-eastern darabuka and Indian tabla in particular.

In 2001, he studied the Indian tabla in Varanasi under his respected teacher Vikas Tripathi along with Kailash Nath Mishra (son of Pt.
