About the Author

Dr. M. K. Sharan-a topper of M.A. examination in ancient Indian & Asian Studies, Magadh University, Bodh-gaya in the year 1965, was appointed Lecturer in the Post-Graduate Deptt. Of Al & AS, M. U. in January 1966 and presently heading the Deptt. Of Al&AS, Gaya College, Gaya (a constituent aunit of the Magadh University).

He received higher education from Rural Institute Birouli and got his second M. A. Degree in History and in the year 1969 he was awarded Ph D. Degree from the Magadh University. In the year 1973, the University of Magadh conferred on him D. Litt. Degree on Studies in Sanskrit Inscriptions of ancient Cambodia.

Dr. Sharan has published the following books-Tribal Coins: A Study, Studies in Sanskrit Inscriptions of ancients Cambodia. Bhagvadgita and Hindu Sociology. Besides this, he has contributed numerous re-search papers to various journals. He has travelled South East Asia in the Year 1976 in connection with his research project.
