Miss Jasbir Kaur is a well-known writer whose "Sister Nivedita" was adjudged the best book in children's literature by the Punjab Education Department.
She has written a number of Biographies in Punjabi, which include two biographies of Swami Vivekananda [one published by the Punjab Language Department for children], Sri Ramakrishna and Holy Mother Sri Sarda Devi. She is now translating into Punjabi the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna. The first volume of this translation has already been released. Its enlarged edition has just published by the Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi. She has also translated into Punjabi two books of Revered Swami Ranganaththandaji Maharaj, namely Swami Vivekananda: His Humanism and Swami Vivekananda on Guru Govinda Singh. Thereafter she translated Swami Vivekananda's Chicago Addresses delivered in 1893 at the auspicious occasion of their first centenary celebrations.
The recent work is the poetic rendering of the Zafarnama [a Bhavan's publication] from Persian into English, an epistle written by Sri Guru Govind Singhji to his contemporary Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. It has a fine expression of Jasbir Kaur Ahuja's vision and authority. Fatehnama is her bold and pioneering research attempt declaring that it was written prior to the Zafarnama by the Guruji to Aurangzeb.
