Description
Back of the Book

HAKKA AND BUKKA

In 1310, the armies of Delhi were attacking the Deccan plateau, ransacking and plundering the prosperous temple towns of the South. Two brothers, Hakka and Bukka, fought valiantly against the invaders. Despite being defeated repeatedly they continued to fight, building a skilled armed force of their own. In this, they were helped by the powerful saga, Vidyaranya. With the support of the local people, Hakka and Bukka set up the city of Vijaynagar and Hakka became its first king, Harihara Raya. Their descendants ruled over a vast and powerful kingdom, extending from the west coast to the east, an empire that held sway for almost 300 years.

“Amar chitra Kathas are a glorious tribute to India’s rich cultural heritage. Theses books have been an integral part of my children’s early years, as they have been for many other families across India. Comics are a great way of reaching out to children, inculcating reading habits and driving their quest to learn more about our roots.”

Thank you so much for shipping Ma Shitala.  She arrived safely today on Buddha Purnima.  We greeted Her with camphor and conch blowing, and she now is on Ma Kali’s altar.  She is very beautiful.  Thank you for packing Her so well. Jai Ma

Great site! Myriad of items across the cultural spectrum. Great search capability, too. If it's Indian, you'll probably find it here.

I was very happy to find these great Hindu texts of the ancient times. Been a fan of both Mahabhratham and Ramayanam since I was a small boy. Now the whole family can enjoy these very important cultural texts at home.
