Book Description
About the Book

Hindu Centum is primarily written for people who are eager to know all about Hindu Dharma/Religion. This is an easy reading text that clarifies conflicts, controversies and distortions surrounding Hindu Dharma. This book explains the material cause of existence, cosmos, the complex notions and realities of Eeshvar/God, Soul, Dharma, Yajfia, Karma, Yoga and Moksa/Moksha in every day terms.

Hindu Centum in a very simple way deals with the basic principles of Vedic-Sanatan-Hindu Dharma. This short treatise answers complex questions such as, who is a Hindu and what are the essential entities for enlightenment?

New diacritical marks are designed to provide correct pronunciation of Sanskrit, and Hindi words especially for the Western English speaking people.

Hindu Centum briefly summarizes Hindu spiritual principles that can be experienced by a scientific mind without any dogma of belief, for these principles can be scientifically tested, realized, and practiced in daily life.

Indeed, Hindu Centum is an important resource and an ideal book for students of Hindu Dharma as well as for a common person.

Preface

Hindu Centum contains one hundred basic questions about the Hindu Dharma or religion, and the work has specific, as well as, authentic answers for the educated individual who seeks to have a general view of Hindu religion as known today. The book encompasses reality, myths, fundamentals, and peripherals of Hindu Dharma.

The questions are well-framed and concise; the answers are equally instructive and impressive. References of the author are precise and exhaustive.

Hindu -Centum is particularly detailed and scholarly in relation to the scriptures, commentaries, Angas-philosophy, and Upanishads. It provides a basic understanding of common Sanskrit words. Also comprehensive understanding of the Smritis, ethics, historical epics, and metaphysical considerations per Hindu religion are also presented. Data on the age of the earth and the dawn of history provide an astounding yet extremely accurate account at par with modern cosmology.

The writer sincerely hopes that this book will be read with an open mind. This book is written especially to clear all confusions one may have regarding the Hindu religion. The diacritical marks used in this text have been modified to provide clarity of transliteration for the western readers. Diacritical guidelines are offered for details.

One need not be startled by new diacritic marks. The old diacritic marks prepared by the British for their use as they wanted to pronounce. This is neither suitable nor serve the purpose to correct pronunciate Hindi and Sanskrit words correctly. Indian writers neither have desire to modify, nor courageous enough to have new diacritic marks to suite other languages or pronunciations such as of Americans, Candians and so on.

The 'Pronunciation and Transliteration Guide' is for phonetically correctness specially a person of West. For this reason one may encounter modified diacritic marks and different spellings of Hindi and Sanskrit transliterated words. These changes are introduced intentionally for the basic purpose - clarity of eneuntiation by Western people especially of North America. Therefore, my request is, 'please do not frown, nor cuss about it. Remenber this book is primarily written to propagate Vedic-Sanatan-Hindil Dharma for the Indian and non Indian children and Adults of North America as they have different pronunciations and spellings than their British counter parts.

In order to understand the teachings of Vedic-Sanatan-Hindu Dharma in its pristine form, the reader is encouraged to start from question number one and then gradually follow through the rest of questions. One may not deviate from this particular methodology. It will help the inquisitive mind to grasp the true spirit and basic teachings of Vedic-Sandtan-Hindu Dharma.
