The Department of Philosophy Gujarat University Ahmedabad organized a five-day International Conference on World Peace from 29" Dec. 2003 to 2 Jan 2004 in which more than 240 delegates from all over the world participated. About the Author
Prof. Dr. Yajneshwar Shastri is the man and the main mind behind the International Conference on World Peace. He is the Director of Gujarat University School of Psychology. Education and Philosophy Ahmedabad, and Head of the Department of Philosophy where ha teaches Philosophy Prof Shastri has a wide experience of teaching Indian Philosophy at home as well as abroad in several countries He has taught Philosophy at Layola Marymount University Los Angeles. He has chaired many national and International Conferences and has published many books and articles on Indian Philosophy and Religions. Previously he was associated with LD Institute of Indology Ahmedabad. Professor Shastri has been constantly working for peace process among educated people, and students.

Dr. Intaj Malek is anardent lover of Literature, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Poetry and Drama. Taking first a Bachelor Degree in Commerce, he continued his pursuit of studies in the faculty of Arts and took bachelor Degree in English Literature with Gold Medal and MA In English Literature. His Philosophical inquisitiveness led him further to do M.A in Philosophy which he did with the first rank at The Gujarat University Ahmedabad He did his PhD on Upanishads and Islamic Mysticism." He is writing Poetry, Plays, and Articles on Literature and Philosophy. He has translated several Plays and Poetry from English into Gujarati language and written several Poems and Plays in English, and has translated five plays from English into Gujarati and written two full-length plays in English. He is working as an Assistant Commissioner of Sales Tax Government of Gujarat. He is actively involved in the activities of Department of Philosophy Gujarat University Ahmedabad and rendered his honorary services as Joint Secretary in the International Conference on World Peace and at present actively working as Honorary Vice President World Peace Foundation Gujarat.
