Sanatan Dharma is the eternal universal religion enshrined in Hindu scriptures like the Vedas and Puranas. Revealed by the God Himself, Hindu Dharma eternally exists in God and represents the true path of God-realisation. Love for the Supreme Lord is embedded in the consciousness of Indians in one form or the other. Millions and millions of Hindus believe in Gods and Goddesses and venerate them to ward off their sufferings and worldly miseries. Hindus are lucky to possess various modes of worship and ways of adoring their deities.
Purusha and Prakriti life and matter are the two principles that function in this world. Purusha is the God that represents life and Prakriti represents matter. Prakriti, the divine mother, is venerated as Shakti (Energy), the female deity from Vedic times. The woman in the role of wife occupies a position of pre-eminence in ancient Hindu tradition. The Rigveda too places woman on a high pedestal of sublimity. Scriptures proclaim 'where woman is adored Gods preside there' -Yatra naryastu pujyante ramante tatra devatah.'
