It constitutes the literary tributes from the well-wishers, admirers, colleagues and pupils of Dr T. P. Verma. Keeping in view the multifaceted contribution of Dr T. P. Verma, the volume is designated as a garland having research papers on various aspects, divided into two parts (Vol. I & II) containing a whole range of articles on the concept of Indian archaeology and tradition, rock-art, protohistory, historical archacology, art and architecture, epigraphy, numismatics, religion and philosophy, etc. by eminent scholars. These articles reflecting various aspects of Indian Civilization, are a befitting tribute to Dr. T. P. Verma. Volume I contains 1 to 20 papers whereas papers from serial No. 21 to 53 have been arranged in Volume II.

About the Author

Dr B. R. Mani (b. 1955, Mussoorie) is a renowned field archaeologist, numismatist and art critic, presently serving in the Archaeological Survey of India as Additional Director General. He has a throughout first class career up to his Master degree (BHU: 1976) receiving Altekar gold medal and BHU gold medal and completed his Ph.D. in 1980 (BHU). He taught at the Banaras Hindu University and Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies from 1978 till 1984 when he joined the ASI as Deputy Superintending Archaeologist. He has been involved in conservation of monuments in Maharashtra, Goa, Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir and discovery of a large number of archaeological sites in these states besides in U.P. and Haryana. He has directed more than 17 excavation projects in the country including Lal Kot and Salimgarh (Delhi), Muhammad Nagar and Harnol (Haryana), Siswania, Sankisa, Ayodhya, Lathiya and Kapilvastu (U.P.) and Kanishpur and Ambaran (J&K). Presently he is re excavating the site at Rajghat (Varanasi). He has five books and about 180 research papers to his credit.

Dr. Arvind Kumar Singh (b. 1959, Jaunpur) is Professor of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology, Jiwaji University, Gwalior (India); obtained Master's Degree in two disciplines and Ph.D. from Banaras Hindu University. Fellowship and projects from different agencies were awarded to him. He is deeply involved in researches, mostly in the fields of Paleography and Epigraphy. Besides, some edited volumes and more than hundred research papers, the following books are in his credit: Development of Nagari Script, 1991; Prachin Bharatiya Murttikala evam Chitrakala, 1994: Corpus of the Lichchhavi Inscriptions of Nepal (with T.
