Preface The present book in hand is a supplement of my previous book "Perspective of Modern Persian Poetry" where it was tried to trace out the vital factors emerging out of prevailing socio-political condition as well as those of literary movements that led to the genesis and development of modern persian poetry. The classical Persian Poetry is better known for its rhetoric expression, subtle thought, ethical, mystic and romantic contents but however, owing to the fact that Persian poetry has ever been under the patronage and influence of kings and nobles so it remained more or less static and monotonous in style, content and expression. Due to its proxmity to royal courts it was not free to express every varied social thought even if some poet might have felt so. General social problem was not under the domain of any poet's wide spread poetic imagination and threof expression but however some exceptional cases cannot be ruled out. With the onset of Constitutional Movement in early twentieth century Iran, a need of common contact was felt to mobilize general opinion against the political stablishment.
