Description
About the Book

Talking Architecture is a part of the series of Ramin Jahanbegloo's conversations with prominent Indian intellectuals. This revised edition presents additional visuals and an extended dialogue between Jahanbegloo and Raj Rewal, one of India's leading architects.

The conversation flows effortlessly and we learn of Rewal's early life and experiences in Europe. The discussions also encompass the aesthetic foundations of Indian architecture as well as the role of architecture in the twenty-first century.

About the Author

Ramin Jahanbegloo is executive director of Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Nonviolence and Peace Studies, and vice-dean of the Jindal Global Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat, India.

Raj Rewal is recognized internationally for buildings that respond to the demands of rapid urbanization, climate, and culture. He is credited with designing edifices including the Hall of Nations, the Asian Games Village, the library of the Indian Parliament in Delhi, India, and the Ismaili Centre in Lisbon, Portugal. He is the recipient of many awards including the gold medal given by the Indian Institute of Architects, the Robert Matthew Award by the Commonwealth Institute of Architects, and the Chevalier des Art des Letters and Chevalier de l'Ordre National de la Legion d’Honneur by the French government. Rewal's works have been exhibited in Parma, Italy, and the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi. His works are also a part of the permanent collections of Pompidou Museum, Pans, France, and Museum of Modem Art, New York, USA

Testimonials
Thank you very much for the Shri Yantra with Navaratna which has arrived here safely. I noticed that you seem to have had some difficulty in posting it so thank you...Posting anything these days is difficult because the ordinary postal services are either closed or functioning weakly.   I wish the best to Exotic India which is an excellent company...

Namaskar. I am writing to thank Exotic India Arts for shipping the books I had ordered in the past few months. As I had mentioned earlier, I was eagerly awaiting the 'Braj Sahityik Kosh' (3 volumes). I am happy to say that all the three volumes of it eventually arrived a couple of days ago in good condition. The delay is understandable in view of the COVID19 conditions and I want to thank you for procuring the books despite challenges. My best wishes for wellness for everyone in India,
Prof Madhulika, USA
