I am very pleased to know that Mr Astro Mohan is coming up with the first ever coffee table
book on "Udupi district". Udupi is a beautiful city in the southwest state of Karnataka, full
of diversified culture, traditions, heritage and beautiful landscape and seascape. Udupi
is famous for its beaches and islands, branded more about temples, islands, beaches,
educational institutions, and churches.
Mr Astro Mohan is a renowned and seasoned news photographer, having about 25 years
of experience in Photo Journalism and currently working as a Senior News photographer
with popular National Kannada daily newspaper "Udayavani".
He has a very special talent and interest for documentary and journalistic photography,
but more state worthy thing is that his documentary and journalistic photographs also
have pictorial quality, which is found very rarely. I have seen his many photographs and
would very well say that he is very artistic and imaginative. With time and experience,
he has polished himself as a worthy image maker. I have comprehended that through
the years he has continuously improved his ability to work better. He is very enterprising
and industrious; I highly appreciate his approach, visualization and execution using the
medium of photography. I always find him eager to learn and in search of knowledge and
expertise. He is intelligent and hardworking.
I am very sure that this new coffee table book on "Udupi district" by Mr Astro Mohan will
be a grand success and will be worth having a place in various national libraries of the
country. I wish him all the very best for this new venture.
