Q1. What does a bird symbolize in a painting?

Birds in Indian paintings are used by artists to symbolize a variety of elements such as weather, the mood of the subject, a certain quality, and attributes of mythological stories. For example, peacocks symbolize pride and beauty, they also represent the rainy season, and Prema (love) between a couples. Swan or hamsa represents the purity of mind, parrots signify learning, love, and exchange of messages, and vultures and eagles as birds of prey represent aggressively and attacking moods. Birds in general stand for the volatile human mind and soul. Sometimes, as is the case with Mughal paintings of birds, rare or foreign bird species are presented in bird paintings for representational and educational purposes.

Q2. How do you texture paint a bird?

Start your painting by drawing a rough sketch, use light colors for the base layers of the bird painting, and move forward by adding additional layers of thick and darker colors on the feather region and body of the bird. Experiment with different mediums on the same painting to bring a thick and three-dimensional appearance to the subject.
