Mahalakshmi! The Goddess of wealth, prosperity & good luck!! It is believed that sincere, heartfelt prayers to this Goddess can unlock the doors of prosperity for each and every one of us. Presented is a complete Mahalakshmi album consisting of every aspect of prayer and worship that pleases the Goddess.
The album starts with an invocation by Pandit Jasraj, proceeding to 108 chants of the Lakshmi Mahamantra- “Om Rim Shrim Lakshmibhyo Namah” which help purify the environment and welcome Mahalakshmi.
It is believed that the Goddess Mahalakshmi has eight forms or aspects, as the term Ashta Lakshmi connotes. Only when one prays to all eight of them, has one prayed to her in totality. Her eight forms viz.,
Adilakshmi, Dhanyalakshmi, Dhairyalakshmi, Gajalakshmi, Santanlakshmi, Vijayalakshmi, Vidyalakshmi and Shri Dhanalakshmi, are highlighted beautifully in this album through the Ashta Lakshmi Stotram.
Also of importance is Shree Suktam, which is closest to the Goddess' heart. It is believed that done with complete devotion and as per the rituals, it pleases her no end and brings prosperity to the devotee. Harish Bhimani explains the vidhi and importance in the preceding commentary.
For the first time- the original Mahalakshmi Aarti from the Mahalakshmi temple in Mumbai has been presented in an album. The language and the tune have been retained to maintain the authenticity of this hallowed Aarti.
The album ends with the Shantipath to mark the completion of the invocation.
