Urli Carved of Exquisite Marble - Crane Catching Fish in his Beak

$310

Inspired by the Jataka story "The Cruel Crane Outwitted," this Urli carved of exquisite marble portrays the crane clutching the fish in his beak and most likely attempting to kill it. According to legend, the wicked crane was able to kill the fish while pretending to transport them to another pond but was outwitted by a crab who saw his true intentions. The Marble Urli is built of high-quality materials and is further embellished with fresco-style watercolor or marble painting. It's a pretty unique creation, with the crane's body serving as the Urli foundation and the head serving as a decorative object.

The rear side of the body, which also serves as the stand, is embellished with vines and flowers, a characteristic of Pietra dura or Parchin Kari, another Marble painting technique. This Urli is a groundbreaking piece of art, as well as a top-notch piece of table décor. It is recommended that the owner approach it as a work of art rather than merely an item of house décor
