RamDeoji, a deified Rajasthani hero to whom temples are dedicated, and whose story is repeated by travelling bards (Bhopas), is housed here in a pentagon shaped structure. This pentagon is a symbol of the temple.

Hero worship (vira-puja) of local heroes is not an uncommon occurrence in Rajasthan, and involves images of the personage or his symbols. In the case of RamDeoji, it his horse Kamala, on which he rides, that is always represented on amulets. The rider and the horse making an easily identifiable symbolic image. Clay and cloth images of the horse alone, some life-sized, are offered at RamDeoji temple in Ramdeora, near Pokaran in Jaisalmer district, Rajasthan.
