The Exaltation Of Lord Rama (Rama Durbar)

$180

Andhra Pradesh is one of the prime originators of Kalamkari art form; it is made on cotton or silk fabric with a tamarind pen using natural dyes. This complex art requires twenty three tedious steps of dyeing, bleaching, hand printing, block printing, starching, cleaning etc before completion.

The painting visible on this page displays Rama Durbar and Lord Rama specifically in a state of extreme happiness as he sits in all his worthiness with his beloved Sita and the other members of the durbar praise them in love, while Hanuman sits towards the right and Garuda on the left near the deities feet, in devotion and respect.

This adorable painting belongs to the Machilipatnam style of Kalamkari, as it depicts its symbolic scene from Ramayana; framed in unique floral border. Crowns and jewels of all the deities are painted dexterously in multiple shades of colors and mostly in circular patterns. Attires are done with minutest detailing in the most accurate ways.

Kalamkaris are primarily made in earthly colors like indigo, mustard, rust, black and green without any use of chemicals and artificial matter. This painting is filled at every inch and corner in traditional yet artistic motifs of mainly flowers, leaves or paisleys. This artifact when hung on any plain wall can automatically enhance the aura of the entire room with its intricate designs, perfection and richness.
