Gathering of Peacocks

Gathering of Peacocks

The Madhubani style of art typically jumps with lots of vibrant colors. That's why this painting of Gathering of Peacocks show a unique yet elegant variant of the painting. Also, this black and white finish also showcases the versatility in the Madhubani regional art form without losing its other key elements such as patterns and great attention to detail. The Madhubani style of paintings originated from Mithila, in Bihar. The subject of their painting typically focuses on scenes of everyday life, deities, or nature (just like this highly intricate picture of a peacock). Each corner and space on the handcrafted paper are filled with ink and design including floral, leaves motif, pinstripes, and other geometric patterns that fill every inch of the paper.

This painting focuses on a majestic peacock at the center. This bird is revered in Hinduism as a vehicle of Skanda which symbolizes ferocity and strength in war. In some representations, Meanwhile, the fish is representing Matsya, or the fish avatar of Lord Vishnu, who saved Manu, the creator of humankind, from a disaster. The fish in this painting is seamlessly integrated at the wings, unifying its symbol for life with the peacock’s grace and beauty to paint an aesthetic representation of life in harmony.

Thank you very much for the Shri Yantra with Navaratna which has arrived here safely. I noticed that you seem to have had some difficulty in posting it so thank you...Posting anything these days is difficult because the ordinary postal services are either closed or functioning weakly.   I wish the best to Exotic India which is an excellent company...

Namaskar. I am writing to thank Exotic India Arts for shipping the books I had ordered in the past few months. As I had mentioned earlier, I was eagerly awaiting the 'Braj Sahityik Kosh' (3 volumes). I am happy to say that all the three volumes of it eventually arrived a couple of days ago in good condition. The delay is understandable in view of the COVID19 conditions and I want to thank you for procuring the books despite challenges. My best wishes for wellness for everyone in India,
Prof Madhulika, USA
