Both females and males grow antlers. The males are up to 50 inches, whereas the females are up to 50 inches. Reindeer herding is conducted in 9 countries; Norway, Finland, Sweden, Russia, Greenland, Alaska, Mongolia, China, and Canada. A small herd is also maintained in Scotland. Reindeer can live for up to 15- 20 years. According to Live Science, “reindeer cyclones” are threatened herd which runs around in circles so that it is difficult for any hunter including the Vikings to target any one animal

This is a fantastic and unique piece depicting a group of reindeer alarmed and scared by someone’s presence. In this, reindeer have been shown as very much watchful. Their ears and antlers are erect, eyes gleaming with curiosity, necks fully stretched upward, the commander eyeing in front and the rest staring alertly here and there, all around. The leader’s head is flourished with a long and bushy beard in brilliant brown color, horns also in brown shaded with white, and the back portion of the body as well as the background in lucid yellow. Some deer are shown in sharp white and some in brown.

The reindeer came to symbolize creativity, resourcefulness, and knowledge, whilst also representing safe journeying and endurance through travels. This aesthetic portraiture is a must for an onlooker’s drawing room.
