Radha and Krishna are the role models for love, romance and sensuality in nearly all Indian classical poetry and miniature art. The artist enjoys creating them in all kinds of media, as much as the viewer delights in viewing them.

The sun is setting and the clouds are in a rush to claim supremacy in the sky. The birds hurry back to their nests, the floral vines and the shrubs trying in vain to attract them. Two parrots, however, are oblivious to this shift in nature and are engaged in love play on a platform. Radha and Krishna observe them, standing on the terrace. Krishna's body is just slightly blue than normal skin tone and Radha's body that much fairer. Both of them have lean and willowy bodies. Krishna extends his left hand forward; Radha's right hand moves backwards to maintain a figural balance. The artist with the slight of his brush achieves numerous folds in their garments. If Radha's head is covered with the odhini, Krishna has a band across his forehead, tied on the side, with peacock feathers tucked in.

As compared to the delicacy of the protagonists and the beauty of nature, architecture takes an inconspicuous backseat. This description by Renu Rana.
