Durga is a multivalent goddess. She is portrayed as an exquisite youthful figure with an alluring body, whose powers are represented by her multiple arms bearing numerous weapons. She is a popular and much worshiped goddess.

The Devi here projects on overwhelming omnipotence, seated on her lion vehicle. She has a peaceful and tranquil expression on her face. Her eyes convey genteel and the captivating smile depicts mother's compassion and beatitude. Her eight arms radiate out of her, conveying energetic movement. Her multiple arms hold auspicious weapons and emblems offered by the gods. The trident the sword bow and arrow and the mace are the weapons she carries together with Brahma's emblem; the lotus. Adorned with exquisite jewellery, she sits pertly astride the fierce looking tiger which she has successfully tamed. The tiger too wears a bejewelled collar and rich overcloth for the goddess to sit upon. Its fangs and the claws are quite prominent.

The bright coloured image counters the sober background; the foreground has ferns to indicate ground. So much power and divinity emanates from the goddess as it is, that the artist does not feel the need of the usual nimbus around her head.

These unique artworks come along with a suitable gift box, and also a wooden stand - as shown in the accompanying image on the left.
