The artist depicts the chariot in profile and Surya in frontal position sitting in padmasana. The red-bodied god has two hands holds a lotus in one and the reigns of his seven horses in another. When speaking of the planets, Surya will be noticed under the name of Ravi.
The drawing of the horses is simplified and painted in black and a few in white. Like many other paintings by the same artist, red, yellow, and black is extensively used. In haste, the artist has omitted colouring some parts of one wheel, hence they are not looking identical.
The Jyotish Tattva says that if "a person is born under the planet Ravi, he will possess an anxious mind, be subject to disease and suffering and suffer the loss of loved ones and property."
