Geometric shapes rule the canvas. A man lovingly paints the hand of his beloved. If the representation is not traditional, the tools for painting the hands is not traditional either. Its a modern paint brush that he uses. They are sitting close together and the artist artistically merges the legs to show so. He has not given them realistic figures and the love with which the man applies colour and the trust and affection with which the woman put forth her hands. The emotions and feelings are not lost on the viewer. In a small white space are shown a peacock and a peahen. The interplay between them is what goes on in the minds of the two.
The basic red, yellow and white colours are used for the entire work. Simple colours but they are juxtaposed so well that they do not clash. The artists intention here is a play with line and colour and in doing so achieve an outstanding effect. The linear rhythm is evident in the painting, proving to be the high point of the work.
