The sun is painted with a face, a tribute to Surya the Sun God. Surya, as the God of Light and Day, is revered as a giver of light and one who fights of darkness. He can be seen marking a new day for the living things under his skies, marked by a Tree of Life-giving shade and shelter to the animals under it. A pair of peacocks and fish can be seen by the trunk of the tree. The peacock embodies grace and beauty while the fish can be seen as representations of creation and life. All these elements (sun, tree, and animals) present a great reminder of beautiful and peaceful mornings to look forward too. The geometric patterns and detail-filled finish is also a great hallmark of Madhubani art which gave this painting a unique touch.
