Devi Kali, the divine Universal mother, is the destroyer of all things negative and is the nurturer of all her devotees. Her typical avatar is her blue/black skin, four or more arms, tongue out, a skirt or made of cut arms, a garland of chunk heads, and an executed head in one of her hands. It is said that she is the wrath side of goddess Durga, who began to slay the rakt beej, and killed all the demons that came before her.
