The ancient sculptors paid tribute to the great mother goddess, the source of their inspiration and expertise, by carving symbols of the goddess Saraswati on the walls of the sanctums they built. This wooden statue evokes the essence of Devi Saraswati, drawing inspiration from the same temple artworks. The lotus pedestal, pillars between the two, and Kirtimukha aureole, which are the secondary features of the statue, all exude beauty.

The Shakti or energy of Saraswati is expressed by the lovely red hue of her skin, which becomes exquisitely embellished with a multitude of soft colors, infusing in wood the presence of Veenavadini.
