The gesture of namaste has a special meaning. The word ‘anjali’ refers to the space between the folded palms of one’s hands, which may contain either the tangible or the intangible. The murti that you see on this page is a particularly graceful example of the feminine form, the hands gathered in a delicate anjali mudra.
