A Vajra, sometimes referred to as a Dorji, is a Tibetan Buddhist ritual implement. It has important iconography of the tantric branch of Buddhism that arises from the Vajrayana school, which has ceremonies that enable its adherents to become enlightened in one lifetime, in a lightning bolt of unbreakable clarity.

The most popular vajra utilized in ceremonies is the five-pronged vajra. It is a representation of the five pearls of wisdom that can be obtained by transcending the five kleshas. Buddhism defines kleshas as mental states obtained by immoral deeds. The five-pronged vajra symbols stand for the five kleshas of greed, anger, delusion, pride, and envy. The five cosmic directions of Buddhas are likewise represented by the pronged vajra.
