9" Lakshmi-Narasimha Bronze Statue | Collectible Religious Idols

$685

A vision of cosmic balance and auspiciousness is the icon of Lakshmi-Narasimha, where strength and splendor unite.

Ferocious Lord Narasimha assumes a Saumya (gentle) form in this Panchaloha statue, in the company of his beloved Lakshmi, who sits elegantly on his lap, complementing his fierceness with her femininity.

Striking due to his roaring mouth, Narasimha is adorned with a Kiritamukuta crown, U-shaped Vaishnava tilak, sacred thread, and carries Shankha and Chakra, while raising his right hand in Abhaya, or a gesture of fearlessness.

The deities sit on a two-tiered lotus pedestal, symbolizing the origin and perfection of the cosmos.

The statue of Lakshmi-Narasimha is a part of several Vaishnava temples in South India, where they represent the ancient ideal of royal glory.

Deity of Ferocity and Compassion

Behold a captivating bronze representation that encapsulates a potent paradox: fierce power tempered by boundless compassion. This exquisitely crafted image depicts Lakshmi-Narasimha, a combined form of Lord Vishnu, embodying both the formidable Narasimha, the lion-headed avatar, and his consort, the serene Goddess Lakshmi. This union symbolizes the divine interplay of strength and grace, protection and prosperity, destruction of evil and the nurturing embrace of the divine feminine. Narasimha, a fierce protector, manifested to deliver his devotee Prahlada from the tyranny of his demon father, Hiranyakashipu. This powerful avatar emerged at twilight, neither day nor night, on the threshold of a doorway, neither inside nor outside, and vanquished the demon with his bare nails, thus fulfilling the boon that Hiranyakashipu could not be killed by man or beast, day or night, inside or outside. The Lakshmi-Narasimha form further underscores the Lord's control over his own intensity, with Lakshmi’s presence calming his wrath and signifying his benevolent nature towards devotees.

Craftsmanship in Bronze

This bronze statue, finished with a rich patina, showcases the impeccable skill of the artisan. Narasimha is depicted seated, one leg pendant, upon an ornate pedestal. The details are meticulous, from the intricate patterns on his headwear to the carefully rendered musculature of his torso and limbs. His lion's face, with its prominent fangs and piercing gaze, conveys the intensity for which he is known, but his posture is relaxed, alluding to the peace that reigns within him. He is four-armed, holding the chakra (discus) and shankha (conch shell) symbols of Vishnu, and one arm is raised in the abhaya mudra, the gesture of fearlessness and blessing. Lakshmi, seated on his lap, is equally detailed. Her expression is gentle and serene, a stark contrast to Narasimha’s fierce countenance. Her hand may hold a lotus or rest in varada mudra, a gesture of bestowing blessings. The contrast between their forms speaks volumes.

The Timeless Appeal of Panchaloha

The use of bronze, also known as Panchaloha, adds to the statue's inherent value and aesthetic appeal. Panchaloha, meaning "five metals," is a traditional alloy considered sacred in Hinduism and Buddhism. It is believed to enhance the statue's energy and longevity. This statue, with its intricate details and beautiful patina, is not only a stunning piece of art but also a powerful symbol of faith and devotion.

Allow the presence of this deity to inspire you to overcome challenges, embrace compassion, and live a life of balance and harmony. This captivating bronze statue serves as a timeless reminder of the divine's power to protect and nurture. Dimensions: 9.7 x 5.7 x 5.5 inch
