Book Description
Back of the Book
Is a record of the life and teachings of an extra- ordinary Siddha master, an illumined teacher of the knowledge of the Self. Written by Bhagawan Nityananda's foremost disciple and successor, Swami Muktananda, who became a world- famous Siddha master in his own right, this book is a boon to seekers who long to experience God within themselves. As Swami Muktananda so eloquently states

Every soul keeps hoping for a divine life. But as a person moves through this world, he gradually forgets his own greatness. He forgets more and more. Then he needs a true path, he needs a Guru, to help him know the greatness of the Self. Without the Guru, It is very difficult to discover that inner state. Shree Gurudev Nityananda was able to give seekers a life that was divine.

Foreword
Rain poured down in sheets. In the enclosed veranda, the atmosphere was filled with sulphurous odors from the nearby hot springs. A few rain-drenched visitors were staring, wide-eyed, through the bars of a window at the ebony figure seated alone on a hard wooden bench inside. He was as motionless as a black granite statue-gazing into space far beyond human vision.

Preface
Bhagawan Nityananda of Ganeshpuri is a modern story of devotion in an ancient lineage of discipleship. Coming fourteen years after Swami Muktananda's passing, these are his words, his thoughts, his offering of praise to his Guru, compiled from many sources, across many years.

Introduction
Thousands of people came for the darshan of Bhagawan Nityananda, and most of them came for relief from their personal difficulties. This was not why I came. I came because I wanted some kind of glimpse of the inner wisdom-Jñana. There was a group of six or seven of us-justices, lawyers, a university vice- chancellor who would come to receive Bhagawan's wisdom. He would speak in monosyllables, but his words manifested the expe- rience of Self-realization. It was because he was established in the state of divine Consciousness all the time that he could touch and thrill the hearts of the people who came before him for his darshan.
