It is a privilege for me to present this second edition of the monograph "Contributions to the Geography and History of Bengal". This monograph comprising the three valuable essays of H. Blochmann published in the Journals of the Asiatic Society between 1873-75 covered the early Muslim period (1203-1538 A.D.) based on the literary, numismatic and epigraphic sources.
The Asiatic Society in recent years has decided to bring out subject specific volumes based on the articles published in the issues of the Journals of the Asiatic Society that scholars may have data required for further study available in one volume. This effort has received appreciation from all quarters.
I believe this volume would also equally be appreciated by rersearchers and students engaged in the study of the history of Bengal in the early Muslim period.
