Foreward
Those of us who are bound to the identity of a body and confined to the frames of time and space cannot imagine the reality in which the liberated beings frolic What games they play we cannot comprehend. Swami Rama of the Himalayas is one such player whose playing field was the mind I recall one day when I told him, "Maharaj ji, I never played as a child" He replied, "Now play divine games", Whatever he did, he did playfully whether it was hitting a tennis ball, training a dog or a disciple. Often he played so to make his play a lesson. I used to enjoy pressing and massaging his head. One day I noticed that he had a dry wound on the head. The next day I wanted to examine it again but could not find it. It must have healed overnight. A day or two later it was there on another part of the head. Following day I wanted to show it to one of my brother disciple "Swamiji has a wound on his head." I said. 1 affectionately searched through all of his hair and found the wound to be in a completely different location. This went on for few days till I finally gave up. For such a being the body too was just simply a ball to play with. He has put away the ball and we spread the ugly rumor that he died. The remembrances in this labor of love by my younger sister in the Guru, B. Maithili describes some of the games the Master's mind played and our remembrances of them are our homage.
