About The Book

Cosmic Dance to Choreographic Lineage is an insightful exploration of Indian classical dance, tracing its journey from the cosmic vision of movement to the refined choreographic voices of today. Rooted in the symbolism of Nataraja and the universe in perpetual rhythm, the book reveals dance as both philosophy and creation. Across seven interconnected chapters, it weaves together metaphysics, regional aesthetics, expressive frameworks, and the pivotal role of Nattuvanars in shaping tradition. The work culminates in a contemporary perspective, positioning today's choreographer as a bridge between heritage and innovation. Blending theory, history, and artistic reflection, the book highlights how rhythm, expression, and cultural dialogue continually renew Indian dance. Published by B.R. Rhythms, it offers scholars, performers, and art enthusiasts a holistic understanding of dance as a living lineage - one that resonates with ancient wisdom while engaging dynamically with the modern world.
