About the Author

Jnanadabhiram Barua (1880-1955) was a prominent figure in Indian Assamese literature, known for his multifaceted talents as a writer, dramatist, translator, and barrister. Engaged in India's freedom movement, his notable works such as "Venishor Saud," "Pancharatna," "Dodair poja," and "Bialator Sithi" demonstrated his literary prowess. His autobiography "Mor Katha" provided insights into his life. Serving as president of the Asam Sahitya Sabha in 1933, held in North Lakhimpur, Assam, he played a crucial role in advancing Assamese literature.
