Book Description

Foreword

In his Independence Day message on August 1947 Shri Aurobindo mentions that "India today is free but she has not achieved unity. The old communal division into Hindus and Muslims seems now to have hardened into a permanent political division of the country. It is to be hoped that this settled fact will not be accepted as settled for ever, or as anything more than a temporary expedient. For if it lasts, India may be seriously weakened, even crippled, civil strife may remain always possible. India's internal development and prosperity may be impeded, her position among the nations weakened, her destiny impaired or even frustrated".

The above forecast of Maharshi Aurobindo finds reflection in the book "Hindu First" of Shri Vivekanand Jha. The first chapter of the book "A Nightmare", vividly describes the imminent danger looming large on the socio-political periphery of India. It finds roots in the very thought process which compelled division of our country at the time of independence. There is no denying the fact that from now to the time of celebration of centenary year of independence in 2047, such forces may raise its heads and hands in a well-orchestrated and defiant manner to fulfil their dream in our existing parliamentary system by means of population invasion spree from neighbouring country bordering Bengal.

The book delves around the happenings in West Bengal since the advent of Marxist rule later replaced by the TMC.

In between several mini Pakistan and shelters of Jehadi organisations have come up especially in bordering areas of Bengal whose role in dethroning the duly elected Sheikh Hasina government in neighbouring Bangladesh, was a matter far beyond the media speculation, but now has become an open secret. The successive state governments in Bengal from Shri Jyoti Basu and Buddhadev Bhattacharjee to Ms Mamta Bannerjee did help such negative forces grow stronger day by day. But now, their evil design is bound to fail, got crushed as the people of Bengal have shown maturity to drive such forces away in last election. Now, Bengal thinks and acts in nationalistic way. In this context, the last chapter of the book propounding age old saying that "What Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow", and "pathway to Hindu Rashtra", surely make an immense sense to the vision and philosophy which have gone into writing this book.

In fact, the book Hindu first depicts the struggles between two world viewpoints. One viewpoint represents the ethos of Hindu philosophy evolved organically over thousand years as a synthesis of various Indian indigenous cultures, tribal traditions and Vedic beliefs. On the other hand, the other worldview point is represented by forces of Islam and Christianity witch emerged from first to seventh century. World viewpoints of these forces in brief, are beliefs in absolutely oneness of their respective Gods, and one religious book from which the commands emerged and rigourously followed. The forcible conversion backed with greed and seduction under influence of arms have been their main objective to spread their area and influence.
