God has not made us like robots, like zombies. God does not say, "You don't have brains, you have only a computer which I'll program and then you function accordingly." No! God has given us total freedom. He has given us intellect, he has given us 'grey matter' and we are free to choose - choose the right path or the wrong path. We can have flowers in our life or can grow thorns in our life. We can choose the path of hell or the path of heaven.

The earth, the sky, the air, water or the plants has been here since time immemorial. This earth has witnessed Moses, Mohammed, Christ, Nanak, Buddha, Lord Rama and Lord Krishna. The only thing that has changed is our own consciousness. So, In order to change the Age, what we have to do? We have to change our own hearts.

Since time immemorial, there has been a series of Masters and Incarnations, such as Lord Vishnu, Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Lord Buddha, Jesus Christ, Prophet Mohammed, Guru Nanak, Kabir, Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Shankracharya etc. whose mission was to save humanity from self-destruction and guide it to peace and perfection.

Now, if we look at their life-stories, we find that they were not very respected and revered during their lifetime. Only a handful of disciples followed them; while most people, far from accepting them, found faults in them and even abused them.

Lord Rama had to spend 14 years in exile, Lord Krishna was compelled to move from Mathura to Dwarka, Lord Buddha was poisoned, Jesus Christ was crucified, Prophet Mohammed had to flee from Mecca to Medina, Guru Nanak was put in jail, Kabir was criticized and harassed in many ways and Ramakrishna Paramhansa was regarded as insane. Only when they were gone were these incarnations revered, respected and worshipped, but during their lifetime they were generally ridiculed.

Why does this happen? Why can't we recognize the true Master while he is alive and is in our midst? Why do we mistrust and ignore him during his lifetime? For the simple reason that the true Master does not put on a show and, moreover, we don't know the proper way to recognize the true one. On the contrary, we are bedazzled by the fantastic feats of so-called masters who are great showmen but are zero when it comes to enlightenment. When we don't find such superficial exhibitionism in the true Master and instead see him working in a unique manner, quite different to our general expectations, we ignore or doubt him. This has happened not once but many times - we have mistaken the right for the wrong and taken the wrong one to be the right one, resulting in great setbacks to our spiritual as well as social progress.
