Bhagawan Baba is revered by millions across the globe as an incarnation of Divinity. This book is an eye-witness account of the extraordinary experiences and the understanding of life and its purpose, as understood first hand by a student of Bhagawan, who after his M.B.A. and Ph.D. in International Financial Management, is now serving as faculty of Department of Management and Commerce at Sri Sathya Sai University at Prashanti Nilayam, Puttaparthi.
This unusual life-document reveals the depths of Hindu philosophy and advaita (the vedantic doctrine of non-dualism) in an easily understandable language. Reading the vivid narration of Deepak's nectarine experiences, was like virtually having long hours of interview with our sweet Sai Baba Himself!
Many, many tears of love and laughter flowed while I had the joy of reading this book and hence blessed with an inner glimpse of Swami's hitherto oblivious loving, tender and sensitive side. Thank you Deepak for sharing with us the breath-taking tale of your early years and your encounters with Bhagawan, which left me in awe!
The excitement I felt on some of the pages was wonderful. I was sitting on the edge of my seat enthralled at the spell-binding examples of our beloved master's omnipresence and omnipotence, pranks and manifestations of "Love My Uncertainty!" My goodness! Deepak certainly went through his share! The excitement I felt while reading your miraculous experiences of materializations and Bhagawan's Supreme Love are unparalleled! I actually cried in almost every chapter. The insights that go along with every experience, catalyse our inner voyages and are life-transforming! What a delight!
At one point you really take us all the way with the following beautiful sentence:
"But one may feel that He is the Great Grand God and we mere humble devotees - such an abyss of a difference! Therefore, the second question is, "Who is a devotee?" The answer is simple. Just like there is no real ornament, but only gold; no real rainbow, but only white light; no real cloud, but only sky; there is no real devotee, but only God. When we awaken from the dream of the dreamer (preferably benignly rather than rudely), we find that there is only the dreamer, and the dream was not different from Him, and that it can never be. To thus awaken as God is the only purpose of our lives..."
What I love so much about this great book this living, loving account of Deepak's beautiful decades with our beloved Lord Sai is that it constantly reminded me of the Love that Bhagawan showers on all of us, always! I felt that this book connected me firmly to my Swami once again and is a must-read for all those feeling lost or depressed after Bhagawan's physical departure from us. I always read this book as a weekly parayanam with my family and find my wishes getting fulfilled.
Love and gratitude to my dearest Baba, and love to you Deepak for who you are and for your loving and most eloquent narration.
