In 1989, Pandit Shiv kumar gave a live performance in Calcutta to celebrate the 150 year of The Times of India. This exquisite performances has been recorded live exclusively by us and released as part of The Golden Raaga Collection.

Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma brought a number of modifications to Santoor as an musical instrument. He introduced a chromatic arrangement of notes, increased the range by a full three octaves and created new playing techniques by which he could sustain the notes and maintain their continuity while playing with the strikers.

Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma has won the prestigious Sangeet Natak Academy Award of India and several other national and instrumental honours.
