About the Book
A FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND, SWEEPING GRAPHIC NOVEL ON THE INDUS CIVILIZATION!

Who were the people of the Indus? Why didn't they build pyramids like the Egyptians? And ultimately what happened to them?

Supported by extensive research from a leading Indus archaeologist, this graphic novel seeks answers to precisely these questions. It is. not history in the form of a dull record of dates and events but a beautifully illustrated glimpse into the lives of the people of the Indus civilization, dating all the way back to 3200 BCE.

The People of the Indus is a rare account of how one of the most unique and enigmatic civilizations of the ancient world changed the course of human history. It is sure to enthral young adults and older readers alike.

A wonderfully fun way to look back at the Harappans.'- Sanjeev Sanyal

"This book adds perhaps a whole new genre of "Historical Reconstruction" to the growing corpus of Indian graphic novels that we have witnessed in recent times...and it sets the bar very satisfyingly high for future authors and artists who will surely be inspired by it!'- Orijit Sen

"Nikhil uses great skill and imagination to expand on a dense subject and make it comprehensible without compromising its complexity.'- Sarnath Banerjee

Introduction
This book came about due to a chance visit to Lothal a few years ago. I was T studying in college in Gujarat at that time, when one day a few friends planned a day trip to Lothal. There was an empty seat in the car, and they asked me if I would like to join. I had never heard of Lothal, and even about the Indus civilization I knew very little. Wasn't that where they had had drains or something?

While I was still deciding whether to go, I did a quick Wikipedia search which told me that Lothal had been a city 4500 years ago, at the same time when the Pyramids were being built in Egypt. That really intrigued me. So, I went.
