Each chapter convers a range of philosophical topics from bhava to ethical issues related to ‘Just Society’ in the Pali canon and contemporary Theravada Buddhist traditions of Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia. Contemporary materials in this volume of essays consider Buddhist practices along with doctrinal ideas of philosophy and ethics.

About the Author Mahinda Deegalleis a visiting Scholar at University of Cambridge and Professor Emeritus in Religions, Philosophies and Ethics, Bath Spa University, United Kingdom. He is the author of Popularizing Buddhism: Preaching as Performances in Sri Lanka (State University of New York Press, 2006) He has edited several volumes including Buddhism, Conflict and Violence in Modern Sri Lanka (Routledge,2006) and a recent volume Dharmayatra (2022). His research concentrates on Buddhist Preaching, Ethics of War, Violence, Diaspora Buddhism, Minorities in Pluralist Societies, Interreligious Dialogue and Religious Conversions and IHL.
