Reshma is a renowned folk singer of Pakistan. Born in Bikaner in Rajasthan state in India, her family moved to Pakistan during the time of Partition in 1947.
Reshma has a rare and unique natural gift. Her wild haunting voice, powerful and melodious, has silken timbre as if specially fashioned by nature to blend Reshma's strong rustic personality with her name.
Coming from a nomadic tribe in the border of Rajasthan, Reshma has a wide-ranging repertoire including a variety of traditional festive folk songs and Sufi devotional songs. She sings with great ease in Punjabi, Sindhi and Rajasthani.
