The fish all belong to the same species, what with their plump bodies painted all alike. Deep crimson heads and tails and fins, scales in multitudinous pastels such as blue and green and more of crimson. Zoom in on the bodies of the fish and note the high-precision finish of the scales. Such are the characteristics of the traditional Madhubani painting - well-defined lines drawn with a rudimentary black pen, solid jewel-tones that fill in the same, and life-affirming themes done in decidedly rudimentary silhouettes.
