A simple image of the seated chaturbhujadhari Ganesha. The anterior right hand He raises in generous blessing over His many devotees. Cradled between the anterior left and the tip of His trunk is a laddoo, His love of which adds to His childlike personality. In His posterior hands are nooses with which to rope the adharmee in and possibly hand them as divine punishment.

The fiery mineral ochre colour of this murti comes from the jasper medium. Jasper is a quartz/chalcedony whose colour comes from the high ferrous inclusions in silica. The sculpture that you see on this page has been carved from a block of jasper. The same has been imbued with a world of detail, which may be appreciated by zooming in on each aspect of Ganesha’s form.

On the belly of a gigantic lotus bloom sits Lord Ganesha in His usual childlike stance. His shapely elephant ears and the serrated, tapering trunk are almost quivering with life. Beneath the densely engraved crown, the brow pours forth with life and expression. The natural infusion of earth and white break the monotony of the natural colour of jasper.

The Remover of Obstacles, Carved in Jasper

Invite divine blessings and a sense of serene prosperity into your home with this exquisite Lord Ganesha statue, meticulously carved from rich, red Jasper. Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed deity, is revered as the god of wisdom, intellect, arts, and sciences, and the patron of beginnings. He is the remover of obstacles and the harbinger of good fortune, making him a beloved figure in Hindu mythology and a symbol of success and auspiciousness worldwide. The choice of Jasper for this divine representation is particularly significant. Jasper, known for its grounding and stabilizing energies, is believed to bring strength and courage to its bearer. Its varied, earthy tones and intricate patterns echo the complexity and beauty of life itself, mirroring the multifaceted nature of Lord Ganesha's blessings. The vibrant red hues of this particular Jasper are often associated with passion, vitality, and the creative energy that Ganesha embodies. This 10-inch statue captures the benevolent form of Ganesha seated in a tranquil posture upon an intricately carved lotus flower, a symbol of purity, spiritual awakening, and enlightenment. Each detail, from the gentle curve of his trunk to the serene expression on his face and the delicate articulation of his hands, has been thoughtfully rendered by skilled artisans. His divine form is adorned with traditional ornaments, further enhancing his majestic presence. The craftsmanship showcases the natural beauty of the Jasper, with its unique veining and subtle color variations making each statue a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. According to ancient lore, Lord Ganesha was created by Goddess Parvati from the dirt of her body and brought to life by her divine will. He was tasked with guarding her chamber and, in his unwavering loyalty, blocked his own father, Lord Shiva, from entering. This act of devotion, though initially leading to a display of immense power, ultimately resulted in Ganesha being granted a boon: he would be worshipped before all other gods. This tale underscores his role as a protector and a deity who blesses new ventures and safeguards against challenges. Display this magnificent Jasper Ganesha in your puja room, living area, or workspace to invoke his blessings for clarity, wisdom, and the successful completion of all your endeavors. It serves as a potent reminder of the divine presence that guides and protects, bringing peace, prosperity, and remover of all obstacles from your path. This statue is more than just an object of devotion; it is a testament to the enduring power of faith and the artistry that brings divine figures to life.

A Symbol of Auspicious Beginnings

Ganesha's iconography is rich with meaning. His elephant head symbolizes wisdom and intellect, while his large belly represents his capacity to absorb and digest all experiences, both good and bad, with equanimity. His broken tusk signifies his sacrifice and dedication to knowledge, as he is said to have broken it to write down the Mahabharata epic. His multiple arms represent his multifaceted powers and his ability to bless and protect his devotees in numerous ways. The rat, his vahana (mount), symbolizes his mastery over desires and the senses, showing that even the smallest creatures can achieve great things when guided by wisdom. By placing this statue in your environment, you are inviting these powerful symbolic energies into your life, encouraging the removal of obstacles and the commencement of all your undertakings with divine favor.
