A dancing peacock has always inspired poets, painters, and other artisans and slowly has become the symbol of love, grandeur, and sacred energy. The peacock, being the Vahana of Lord Kartikeya, is also often associated with valor. This brass lamp uses the sacred symbolism of the peacock to enrich the role of the lamp. This lamp consists of a crown image of a peacock biting a branch, again a symbol of growth. There is a five-wick lamp attached to its curled tail; this is a stylish addition to the rather traditional Mayil Vilakku. There is an arrangement of nine lamps below the main image of a peacock that looks like a blooming flower. The entire structure stands on a well-decorated stand. This lamp is a traditional puja item that uses symbolism and creativity to serve its purpose.

A Divine Illumination of Myth and Melody

Invite the radiant glow of tradition and the resonant chime of auspiciousness into your sacred spaces with this exquisite brass peacock wick lamp. Handcrafted in India, this piece is more than just a lamp; it is a testament to ancient artistry and spiritual symbolism, designed to elevate your devotional practices and adorn your home with timeless elegance. The peacock, a creature deeply revered in Indian mythology, takes center stage, its majestic form rendered in lustrous brass, poised to hold a source of divine light. In Hindu lore, the peacock is closely associated with Lord Kartikeya, the god of war, and also with Goddess Saraswati, the patron of arts and knowledge. Its iridescent plumage is said to have been gifted by the gods, and its dance is often seen as an omen of rain and prosperity. This lamp captures the peacock's inherent beauty and its symbolic representation of grace, royalty, and auspicious beginnings, making it an ideal centerpiece for any puja room, altar, or as a striking decorative accent in your living spaces.

An Ode to Craftsmanship and Auspicious Design

This lamp features a meticulously crafted peacock standing proudly at its heart, its head turned as if to embrace the light. From its gracefully arched neck, a delicate chain suspends a single wick holder, designed to cast a warm, flickering glow that banishes darkness and ushers in serenity. The base of the lamp unfolds into a beautiful lotus-like structure, adorned with eight individual diyas, each ready to hold a lamp wick and oil. The lotus, a sacred symbol in many Eastern traditions, represents purity, enlightenment, and rebirth, further enhancing the spiritual aura of this piece. Adding to its enchanting appeal, small, melodious bells are suspended from the outer rim of the lotus base. These bells, when gently stirred by a breeze or even the subtle vibration of daily life, produce a soft, pleasing sound, believed to ward off negative energies and invite positive vibrations. This combination of light and sound creates a truly immersive and spiritually uplifting atmosphere, perfect for meditation, prayer, or simply for creating a tranquil ambiance.

A Legacy of Brasswork and Devotion

Each lamp is a unique creation, brought to life by the skilled hands of Indian artisans who have inherited generations of knowledge in brass metalwork. The rich, warm hue of the brass lends an air of antiquity and divinity to the piece, while its robust construction ensures it will be a cherished item for years to come. The intricate detailing on the peacock's feathers, the delicate patterns on the base, and the charming bells all speak to the dedication and passion poured into its creation. This lamp is not just an object of beauty; it is an heirloom, a vessel of tradition, and a source of divine light and sound that will grace your home with its presence.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
